The one-pound hamburger steak, adorned with grilled mushrooms, green bell peppers, and onions, is a massive and flavorful feast. The fried pork chops, both sizable and tasty, paired excellently with the fresh collard greens and black-eyed peas. The attentive service added to the positive experience, and we left with enough for dinner tonight. Midway Meal proves to be a great little eatery, weaving in a rich local heritage into every bite of its comforting dishes.”

I want expecting anything mind-blowing specially since its a cafeteria but I actually had to go back and get a second portion with how amazing everything is. “I love this place for meat & seafood. You are always greeted with warmth by the men picking your meat selections. They are knowledgeable and helpful each and every time I have asked any questions. What a great place to get deals on meat. I gave them 4 stars because the selection is overwhelming and the advertising could be better on their website. Just make sure to grab the specials list by the register before making your way to the back counter. They also have great hot food prepared. Be sure to check everything out before you make your final selection at the back meat counter. I love this place.”

“Well worth the drive from Beaufort. The seafood omelette was absolutely loaded with shrimp and deviled crab. The biscuits were easily in the Top 3 of any I’ve ever had. The crab stew was pure bliss. We’ll definitely be back. Service was a little slow; but, they were busy on a Saturday morning.”

“Helloooo Mary! My goodness gracious it’s hard to find a good southern cooking restaurant these days but Mary’s checked all the boxes from the sweet tea, food and environment. Not to mention it’s snuggled in the valley of the beautiful mountains of Young Harris. I learned about Mary’s from my nephew who graduated from YHC and swears by their $1 pancakes. But I visited with my mama and sister for lunch. I enjoyed the fried catfish strips, my sister had the grilled ham and my mama the fried chicken. Our plates were licked clean and I’m planning another visit to the area just so I can eat here. They used to take cash only but have recently started taking credit cards so come hungry and eat big - they are 5 ⭐️ in this country girls book.”
