By using Wheree, you agree to comply with these Content & Community Guidelines. These rules are created to protect you, other users, and the integrity of our platform. They apply to all content you submit and are binding upon accessing, registering for, or using Wheree's services. Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, temporary or permanent account restrictions, or other enforcement measures as deemed appropriate by the Wheree moderation team.

1. Eligible & Authentic Reviews

  • Share only your direct, personal experience; do not write on behalf of others or recount someone else’s story.
  • Content must reflect genuine, firsthand insight and be clearly tied to the reviewer’s experience.
  • Use of AI-generated text, images, or video is forbidden; all content must be human-created, truthful, specific, and personal.
  • Clearly indicate that your experience is recent; avoid reviewing visits older than 12 months unless relevance is clear.

2. Respectful & Constructive Tone

  • Keep a professional, respectful tone; rudeness, sarcasm, or aggressive language is not tolerated.
  • Personal attacks or insulting language are forbidden.
  • Critical feedback is welcome when objective and constructive; venting is unacceptable.

3. Relevance & Focus

  • Maintain a professional, respectful tone.
  • Prohibited unless directly relevant:
    • Political or social commentary.
    • Comparisons to unrelated services/establishments.
    • Using the platform for public grievances or personal agendas.

4. No Discrimination

  • Content that encourages, condones, or implies discrimination (race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, ability, age, background) will be removed.
  • Culturally insensitive or subtly discriminatory language may be moderated to preserve inclusivity.
  • Experiences of discriminatory treatment may be shared when factual and respectfully presented.

5. Sensitive, Violent, or Sexual Content

  • Do not share graphic, violent, or explicit details, even when describing real events.
  • When discussing safety concerns or harassment, avoid excessive or graphic detail while ensuring clarity.
  • Testimony about abuse or misconduct may be allowed when it protects others and is presented clearly.

6. Illegal, Harmful or Dangerous Activities

  • Content that promotes, glorifies, or describes illegal, harmful, or unethical activities is strictly prohibited.
  • This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Drug use, trafficking, or smuggling.
    • Human trafficking or sexual exploitation.
    • Use or distribution of illegal weapons or any conduct endangering life or property.
  • Reports of criminal behavior (e.g., scams or theft) are permitted if presented objectively and responsibly.

7. Personal & Confidential Information

  • Under no circumstances should content include:
    • Personal contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, residential addresses, etc.).
    • Government-issued identification, account numbers, or passwords.
    • Credit card or payment details.
    • Confidential information belonging to others (e.g., staff, customers, other users).
  • Wheree will honor verified requests for personal data removal within 30 days, except where legal obligations require retention.

8. Conflicts of Interest

  • You are prohibited from:
    • Reviewing your own business or any establishment with which you are affiliated.
    • Requesting biased reviews from acquaintances (friends, family, colleagues).
    • Offering or accepting compensation, incentives, or freebies in exchange for reviews.
  • All compensated experiences must be transparently disclosed.

9. No Promotion or Advertising

  • Reviews submitted with the intention of advertising, marketing, or promoting services, businesses, or products are strictly disallowed and will be removed.
  • Do NOT include:
    • Advertisements, spam, or brand promotions.
    • Irrelevant links to blogs, social media, or affiliate platforms.
  • Links are permitted only if they are directly relevant to the reviewed experience (e.g., booking platforms).

10. Inappropriate Language & Slang

  • Use clear, respectful, and appropriate language.
  • Refrain from using vulgar expressions, racial or cultural slurs, or offensive slang.
  • Emojis and acronyms may be used in moderation, provided they are not used sarcastically or offensively.

11. Duplicate, Spam, or Repetitive Content

  • All reviews must be original and relevant to the listing.
  • Do NOT repost identical content across multiple locations.
  • Use the "Edit Review" feature to amend or update your prior review.
  • Uploading multiple unrelated images without context is not permitted.

12. Use of Translations

  • Reviews should be written in English or your native language.
  • Avoid unedited machine translations; content must be reviewed for clarity and accuracy.
  • Wheree reserves the right to remove translations that are inaccurate or unintelligible.

13. Reporting & Moderation

At Wheree, we combine proactive moderation with community participation to maintain a respectful, trustworthy environment. If you encounter content that violates our guidelines—offensive, misleading, promotional, or harmful—please report it.

13.1 Reporting & Moderation

  • Reviews containing hate speech, threats, or harassment.
  • False, misleading, or manipulated experiences.
  • Content promoting illegal, violent, or discriminatory behavior.
  • Spam, promotional material, or irrelevant links.
  • Reviews revealing personal or confidential information.
  • Duplicate or AI-generated content.
  • Conflicts of interest (e.g., self-promotion or incentivized posts).

13.2 Moderation Process

  • Reviews pass an initial automated system (NLP) checking basic eligibility, abusive language, and irrelevance.
  • If a review fails basic standards, it is automatically rejected and the user notified.
  • If it meets baseline criteria, it is published immediately.
  • If flagged by the system/community (e.g., unclear or borderline), it is queued for manual review.
  • Processing within 7 days. If removed, users are informed via system notification.
  • Users may appeal via the Contact Us page if they believe removal was in error.

13.3 Consequences of Violations

  • Content removal.
  • Formal warning.
  • Temporary posting suspension.
  • Permanent account suspension (for severe/repeat cases).
  • Notification to authorities (criminal/safety concerns).

We assess severity, frequency, and intent to protect the community while allowing room for learning.

If you believe a moderation decision was incorrect, you can appeal:

  • Submit a request via Contact Us referencing the flagged content.
  • Provide context/clarification.
  • A secondary review is typically completed within 7 days.

  • Spam: Irrelevant or promotional content designed to mislead or advertise.
  • AI-Generated Content: Content created using artificial intelligence; **not allowed** on Wheree.
