I knew immediately it was likely gonna be some of the best food I would ever eat. When they brought out my wings on a picnic paper plate that sealed the deal. Best wings hands down. Shark Sauce 10s and fries absolutely hit the spot!”

“Great place to meet new friends. The waitress was super nice and told us all about the time she made biscuits and gravy and her amazing talent of baking 🎂 cakes. The Meatloaf omelet was different the Chipotle sauce on the side is a nice touch. Biscuits and Gravy are fantastic 👌 nice flavor and a little kick of 🥵 🔥 not much just enough. I love the union dinner can't wait to go back...”

“tldr: cute diner, fast service, friendly staff, cheap prices, good food, but the water they serve tastes mildewed or something the diner is really cute and casual, we didn’t have to wait to be sat, and the staff is all really friendly. the service was fast and when we ordered our waitress asked if we were sharing (we were), and when she brought the food out she’d had the kitchen split both entrees in half on separate plates which was great. the food we ordered came out quickly and was excellent! the only negative was the water - it had a mildewy smell and taste to the point that we actually didn’t want to drink it, and might keep us from coming back”

“Dining area is separate from the bar. Both areas are very nice and welcoming. I have been a handful of times and have had great service on both sides. Similar to a lot of authentic BBQ places they put a sheet of paper on the table. You can make a mess or food art. They provide the crayons. It can be fun to play a few rounds of tic tic-tac-toe while your food is cooking. In the past I have had the burgers, Thai chili wings, pizza and everything was really good. Tonight my daughter had Buffalo wings and a side of mac-n-cheese. That was delicious! I had the baked scrod and that was cooked just right. They also have their own line of soda with old school flavors like Raspberry Lime Rickies! Good food in a relaxed atmosphere.”

“This 60 year old burger joint will be closing its doors forever in April 2024. Very sad to see it go. Hamburgers are excellent! Go get one before they're gone! (My fave is the mushroom jack burger). The history of San Jose is posted all over the walls...there are not many places left where you feel as if you've stepped back in time but Burger Pit is one of those places.”

If they would just keep more supplied and quit disappointing customers it would be excellent. I love fixing my own potato at the bar and their fish sandwich is excellent. The burgers have an overly charbroiled flavor that could use dialing down but are rather good intermittently.”
