“This 60 year old burger joint will be closing its doors forever in April 2024. Very sad to see it go. Hamburgers are excellent! Go get one before they're gone! (My fave is the mushroom jack burger). The history of San Jose is posted all over the walls...there are not many places left where you feel as if you've stepped back in time but Burger Pit is one of those places.”

“Muddy Misers is a vary quaint restaurant. We loved the fishing/hunting theme! The service was very good and attentive, and the food was delicious with plentiful portions. They have outdoor seating for warm weather dining, and the restaurant sits right by the river for wonderful views.”

“Pulled up to Ponderosa and a woman was outside leaning against the wall smoking a cigarette. When we parked, she quickly put it out and rushed inside to get to the register to wait on us. Not a great first impression, but we carried on. The atmosphere was exactly what I remember of Ponderosa from the late 1980s. I got the sirloin tips and the salad bar, since that’s what I would always get when I was younger. I don’t even know where to start with how terrible the food was. The steak was incredibly fatty and absolutely bland. Like eating pure grizzle. It was probably the worst steak I’ve had in my lifetime. And the mushrooms on top tasted like they just came straight out of a can and were gross. The only positive things I can say is that the salad bar was good and the carrot cake was the best thing in the place. I’m glad I went for the nostalgia of it and just to say I went, but you couldn’t pay me to eat there again.”

“I had lunch at Steak Street on an early Friday afternoon. The menu is fairly limited for lunch. I had the Bourbon Chicken sandwich. It was cooked well, not too dry but done, and the bourbon glaze was not too strong. Others in my group had the reuban sandwich and remarked it was very good. Prices are good for a lunch. I would highly recommend.”
